TEE TALK: Mason owns a consistent swing and a
good short game...has plenty of tournament experience and a calm
demeanor on the course which will help him to produce low
scores...as his game matures with more -and-more college-level
competition, he will be a consistent performer for the Golden
Eagles throughout his career...halfway through a very strong first
season, Mason had the second lowest score on the team in the fall
with an average of 75..he qualified for every tournament during the
fall season and will continue to be a promising player for Tech.
AT TECH...2010-11: Mason scored his low round
of 70 during the first round of the APSU F&M Bank
Intercollegiate Tournament on October 18...played 12 total rounds
in four tournaments and had two rounds below par.
HIGH SCHOOL: Mason comes to Tech from Oak Ridge High School where he was a fixture on the golf team for coach Jody Wadell...as a junior, he finished second in the district and region tournaments for Oak Ridge, and went on to capture second place in the TSSAA state tournament...named the 2009 Player of the Year...has been selected to play in the Wiley Cup the past two years for the Roane/Anderson County team in competition against Knox County.
